REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed and installed, or replaced during rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

  • Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  • If an SRS part is accidentally deployed, it may cause a serious injury.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

20. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt to disconnect the floor anchor of the rear No. 2 seat outer belt assembly.

(b) Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides.

21. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY

25. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt to disconnect the floor anchor of the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly.

26. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Remove the 4 bolts.

(b) Disengage the 2 guides.

(c) Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button as shown in the illustration to release the lock and disconnect the pretensioner connector.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(d) Remove the nut.

(e) Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly LH from the outer belt anchor bracket sub-assembly LH.

27. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

(a) Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button as shown in the illustration to release the lock and disconnect the pretensioner connector.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) Remove the 4 bolts.

(c) Disengage the 2 guides.

(d) Remove the nut.

(e) Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rear No. 1 seat outer belt assembly RH from the outer belt anchor bracket sub-assembly RH.
