SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
Component | Function | |
---|---|---|
Position control ECU and switch assembly LH | Receives position signals from the position sensors. Outputs seat adjuster signals to the front seat adjuster assembly LH to adjust the seat accordingly. | |
Front seat adjuster assembly LH | Slide motor | Receives signals from the position control ECU and switch assembly LH, and slides the seat forward and rearward. |
Front vertical motor | Receives signals from the position control ECU and switch assembly LH, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion. | |
Lifter motor | Receives signals from the position control ECU and switch assembly LH, and raises and lowers the seat cushion. | |
Cushion length motor* | Receives a signal from the seat variable cushion switch (driver seat), and slide the seat cushion forward and rearward. | |
Position sensor | Built into each motor and send position signals to the position control ECU and switch assembly LH to detect the position of the seat. | |
Front seatback frame sub-assembly LH | Reclining motor | Receives signals from the position control ECU and switch assembly LH, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward. |
Lumbar support adjuster assembly LH | Receives signals from the front lumbar power seat switch (driver seat) and operates the built-in motor to adjust the lumbar support. | |
Seat memory switch LH | If the SET switch is being pressed when one of the M1, M2 or M3 seat memory switches is pressed, or if one of the M1, M2 or M3 switches is pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the SET switch, the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver door) sends the signals so that the seat position can be stored. Then, when a seat memory switch LH is pressed, a signal is sent to the outer mirror control ECU assembly (driver door) and the seat position changes according to memory. | |
Front lumbar power seat switch (driver seat) | Operates the motor built into the lumbar support adjuster assembly LH according to switch operation. |
SYSTEM OPERATION
The front power seat functions which can be operated with the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.
Seat Function | Driver Seat |
---|---|
Slide | Power and Memory |
Reclining | Power and Memory |
Front Vertical | Power and Memory |
Lifter | Power and Memory |
Lumbar Support adjustment | Power |
Cushion Length* | Power |
The seat memory switch LH sends memory switch information to the outer mirror control ECU assembly. Then the information is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication and then an instruction to memorize the seat position is sent to the position control ECU and switch assembly LH via CAN communication. As a result, the seat position is memorized.
